UPDATE: Missouri coach Frank Haith has verbally agreed to become the next coach at Tulsa, Haith confirmed Friday morning in a text to ESPN.com.

ESPN is reporting that Missouri head coach Frank Haith is in final negotiations to accept the Tulsa head coaching position.

Barring a last-minute collapse in negotiations, Haith will replace Danny Manning, who left for Wake Forest earlier this month.

A surprise hire by Missouri out of Miami three years ago, Haith the Tigers to the NCAA tournament in two of his three seasons and has a 76-28 record at Missouri.
Missouri was 23-12, (9-9 SEC) last season and lost to Southern Miss in the 2nd round of the NIT.

I think Mizzou gave him a heads up that he should save face by evaluating other options. Axe was coming.
