Cal later expanded on that idea via Twitter on Wednesday:

WHY do it at the start of the season. Practically everybody does it at the end to determine the conf. champion. & then having 2 games going on simultaniously for the fans? HOW are you going to be able to control all the noise, whistles, bands, etc. that would come from that?

I like the timing idea but they need to have it in December the weekend after the SEC football championship . By then casual basketball fans are just now starting to really pay attention to basketball and it doesn't conflict with football in any way.

I mean it's not that crazy of an idea but outside of Kentucky fans what fanbase would attend? Georgia and maybe that's it.

Exactly. By and large, most SEC fans won't watch basketball in November.

The only fans that would care are the basketball ones. Everybody else would wait until the fb playoffs are done.

"You could play the games where fans can go from side to side and watch multiple games." Love this idea... only drawback is that the sight lines in a football facility are terrible for hoops.
