For me it was Canadian, TX
All of the panhandle towns are awful, but Canadian is a really nice and surprisingly wealthy town

Dinant in Belgium, it isn't a city that is recommended much when traveling to Belgium but it was awesome with a local tapestry, a restaurant that overlooked the entire town, and a castle

My grandparents lived in north central Arkansas for years. It really is an underrated place to visit.

Yep! It's also where I took this pic.

May not be the best place for everyone to visit.

Hwy 395 on the east side of the Sierra Nevada range. It was a drive through on the way from Tahoe to SoCal. Several quaint towns with immense beauty.

I love the beauty of California, in general. Wouldn't be a bad place to live if not for the people.

I was surprised by the Grand Canyon and Vancouver.

Seriously, George L. Smith State Park outside Metter, Georgia was a big surprise.

Thomasville, Georgia (not to be confused with Thomaston). Considering that most of Georgia South of Atlanta is a horrible, Thomasville is surprisingly nice.

chicago. far cleaner than los angeles or NYC.

completely surprised because a. i anticipated the griminess of new york and b. people always talk shite about chicago and the murder rate.

good thing all the crime in chicago is nowhere near the tourist attractions

Just about anywhere I've been in Ireland.

I have zero Irish heritage (I'm mostly English) so I had no concept of Irishness or the political situation there until I began to plan a trip there for my somewhat Irished-heritage wife unit.

I could live there part-time in retirement, that's under consideration. Cork or Kerry.

The Isle of Negros in the Philippines. Drove across it last May on the way to Iloilo and the scenery was amazing in the mountains there. The ferry ride to Negros was awesome too with the dolphins and the flying fish. I have seen many of dolphins, but never the flying fish. I thought people were pulling my leg until I actually got to see them for myself.

Cape Town

The entire city felt like a resort.
