Going on a cruise this June with my wife. Kids aren't coming. Anyone been on this trip or to these ports and have any recommendations?

Ship Name: Freedom Of The Seas
Departure Port: Barcelona, Spain
Ports of Call: Barcelona, Spain; Marseilles (Provence), France; Villefranche (Nice), France; La Spezia (Florence/Pisa), Italy; Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy; Naples (Capri), Italy; Barcelona, Spain

Check out Oceania cruise line. Your itinerary looks good. Get to Barcelona day or two early and get ahead of jet lag. Go to el born district and walk. See if you can get to Nice when in Marseilles. Try to see Amalfi coast if have time.

For Marseillies, I would rent a car and drive around all of the small Provence towns. We were on an Oceania cruise this past summer that called in Bandol and this is what we did and it was an amazing day.

For Nice, I would take the train to Antibes for the day. I've been to Antibes a few times and love that town.

That's a great itinerary though.

Capri is absolutely amazing. I would take a ferry there from Naples, take the chairlift up to Anacapri for great views of the whole island, and then go do a boat tour around the whole island.
