I know this probably is not the best time to ask but I plan on making a trip to Vegas in December and wanted know recs. for Hotels and Restaurants. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Don't wanna break the bank with a Hotel but also don't wanna stay in a shithole either.

Check out the prices at Aria for hotels.
For dinner, go to Sage (also in the Aria).

I would have actually recommended Mandaly Bay. I have stayed there a couple of times.

I was in the Aria last week. Hotwire usually has some good deals if you aren't too picky, and if you use BetterBidding.com you can usually figure out what hotel it is. Trump just off the strip kept coming up for a good price in the 5* category. I was able to land a very good deal on the Aria for Friday 9/22 that was in the $150 range before resort fees and self parking charge. (Resort fees and parking are almost always additional on the strip)

Also, prices fluctuate wildly. Keep an eye on a few you may be interested in and check daily to see what the deals are. Hotels.com will credit you if you find a lower price before you stay and request it.

Wife and i went 2 years ago in mid december. I had like 60,000 points on my capitol one debit card that i had no idea existed until i discvoered it one day on my banking website.
Anyways, i was able to book a flight for both of us and 3 nights at Treasure Island. I was like 7,000 points away from being able to stay at Ceasers instead of Treasure Island.
you can find rooms for under $100/night at places like Treasure Island, Mandalay Bay, harrahs, New York, Paris, Planet Hollywood, MGM, Luxor.
You can find rooms for around $200/night at Aria, Cosmo, Caesars, Bellagio, Encore, Winn.
Caesars and Cosmo are two that you can usually find something around $170/night around this time.

New York New York is always my go-to. Good location

Compared to most places, Vegas Hotels are cheap. Do you have a money amount per night?

Check out the VRBO rentals and the like attached to the MGM. You're basically staying at the hotel but you are technically in a condo and you can often find some pretty sweet deals.

Wife and I are heading there the day after Christmas for the week. Staying at the Monte Carlo...not the best hotel but a decent location.

Do you want to walk the strip? Look for a central strip hotel with a decent price then. As the post above says, prices fluctuate. If you plan on ubering then just get in the general vicinity. Those guys look to turn and burn so you aren't going to get long hauled.

Not sure where you are from but have you gambled at all at the Beau Rivage with a players card? If so you may be able to get a good discount at one of the Mlife (MGM) properties.
The Mirage has been out go to for the last couple of Vegas trips. Rooms are nice and reasonably priced. I also like that it's in a good location, and it isn't such a large place that it takes you 20-30 minutes to walk from your room to the front door.
I had some buddies stay at Ceasars the last trip, and while the rooms were awesome, it was double the price of Mirage and I swear it took 30 minutes and a 2 mile walk to get to the room once you got into the place.

MGM Grand was great for the wife and I.
I really liked New York New York when we walked around in there, so we will probably stay there next time

I like staying at the Signature. I can get groceries delivered to the room. There's a Starbucks downstairs. It's quiet, it doesn't stink of smoke, and I don't mind walking to anywhere I might want to go from there.

Hotels (from low to high): MGM and Planet Hollywood-I've stayed at both for work trips and didn't suffer, Aria, Mandalay Bay (gently... their rates might be low right now and it's a great hotel), Wynn, and Mandarin Oriental.
Restaurants: Tableau at Wynn has a great breakfast/brunch, Craftsteak at MGM, Javier's at Aria, Five50 Pizza at Aria, Yellowtail or Lago at Bellagio might be good for a date night as both have fountain views.

the property and the rooms are great, and the rates there are extremely reasonable.
however, it's located at the very southern end of the strip, so the location isn't ideal. as such, the atmosphere isn't very lively and it's a ways from all the other desirable hotels.

add Prime at bellagio to the list of great spots for a date (especially if you want a steak)

Was there in August and stayed at the Aria and loved it, rooms, food and location were all great. My favorite meal was breakfast at The Omelet House.
