Considering booking a trip to the US Virgin Islands, either St. Thomas or St. John. Aside from the beauty of the beaches, I see from reading around online that there are some concerns with crime and the Zika virus. Can anyone chime in on their experience there, good or bad?

Yes

St. Thomas exists for cruise ship people and as a means to get on the ferry at Red Hook to go to St. John.

There are concerns for crime on every Caribbean island. If you put yourself in the wrong place or situation you are at risk. Just like you are in your hometown.

I have a full review coming that I need to post. Stuck in Miami for the second day due to various American Airlines screw ups. Will try and post the review today and then pics when I get back to NOLA.

St. John > St. Thomas.

Spend 1 day in St. Thomas at Magen's bay, but other than that stay on St. John's. There's a ferry from Red Hook to Cruz Bay that's like $7 and runs every hour.
