My wife, who I met here, is from Estonia. We are going to travel there for 2 weeks in May. I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions about things to do?
We will be staying near the capital Talliann were she is from.
**Leaving today for Estonia! So pumped. Will be back in 2 weeks to post some pictures and thoughts about Tallinn.

On your way to pick her up from the FedEx store in Tallinn?

Tallin is an awesome walled city. We have visited three times over the years. My wife loves the little shops and I enjoy walking outside the city walls burning a couple of cigars

That's awesome man!!... Yea, the hotels are so cheap. The Swissotel there is like a 5 star hotel for $160 a night. We are going to stay for a weekend there. I am very excited about the trip. You should Google "underwater prison in Estonia" and look at the pictures. I would love to go to this place when we go back in the summer time.
And no, she is not FedEx. I met her in the States...she went to LSU.

Every woman I have ever met from Estonia was beautiful.

I haven't been to Estonia in 12 years but the Old Town in Tallin is nice. Other than that, not much else in Tallin. If you can get a car, there are some nice villages and some beautiful white cliffs along the coast. When I was there, we found an abandon soviet submarine base and did a little trespassing to check it out. Rottweilers and a giant man yelling at me in Russian were involved. He gave us a tour for the equivalent of $5. We'll be back there this summer on our way to Latvia and Lithuania.

Was just in Tallinn the other day, surprised how active it was for a Wednesday afternoon. There were a group of people protesting "Putin's war crimes in Ukraine" in front of the Russian Embassy. Like most European cities, the nightlife doesn't pick up till after midnight. So if you and your wife are into going out for drinks, best wait till then as its pretty dead between 8-12. Wasn't able to do alot of sightseeing, but like previous posters have said the Old Town is really nice along with the little shops. Avoid the restaurants with the dressed up waiters as its the typical overpriced tourist trap food. Go to the Estonian Burger Factory at some point during your trip, as that was probably the best burger I've ever had. Estonia is super affordable like most of eastern Europe, so that's always a plus. The malls in any of the Baltic countries are pretty awesome, too. The Ulemiste Mall next to the airport has a Belgian Waffle stand that is pretty good.
For the record, the women in Lithuania are friendlier and better looking, so if you meet any who are nice chances are they're from Finland. Not that it matters anyway since you'll be with your wife.

Yea, def will be visiting old town. Obviously with my wife being from there, she knows a lot of cool places.
And yea, she told me unless it's changed, the clubs don't getting kicking till midnight. That will be a struggle since we can't hang even close to how we used to. But we will suck it up.ha
I will def try the burger joint. And apparently they have some restaurant that serves Gumbo! I told her I have to give it a taste and see how they do it there.
