Will be staying here Wyndham hotel
Hotel is outside the city, on the beach. Really interested in checking out the Rain Forest and going to Old San Juan for a day.
Anyone been? Things to do/don't?

I've been. Stayed a few nights in OSJ, and then a few nights on the East side in Fajardo.
OSJ is the only part of San Juan really worth seeing for tourists. It is pretty cool, think of a really clean French Quarter, it is pretty much identical except no strip clubs and skeezy stuff. Some pretty cool restaurants.
Rented a house in Fajardo, took a day trip to the island of Culebra (definitely worth doing, either there or Vieques) and spent the day on the beach there, went to the rain forests, and did a canoe trip in a Bio-Bay.
All worth it. Couple of things: watch your arse. Do your research. Parts of the island can be somewhat dangerous, crime wise. So be smart. For instance, one of the worst caserios is right new OSJ, so just do your research and don't end up in it. But OSJ is pretty darn safe.
West side of the island is much quieter and more laid back, less crime, but less to do besides surfing.
