I have been tasked by my MIL to find a nice ski in/ski out anywhere in Colorado area that has 4+ bedroom suites for next ski season over mardi gras. Looking online I figured a nice rental home would be our best bet but it seems hard to find a ski in/ski out home. We will have various ages of children with us under from 1-6.

Open to recommendations/ experiences.

I think your search should start with Winter Park.

Ski in/ski out homes can be very expensive.

Ski in/ski out condos can be just as nice as a separate home. Accommodate suprisingly large families. Lot of them have ski valets and lockers that are super easy and convenient to the slopes.

Going with a condo will broaden your choices since most ski areas have more condos to choose from than homes.

I agree with bamafan, be open to condos and you will find what you need. Our big family trip used to be to Beaver Creek and we had 6 kids in a big condo at St. James place. It was more than enough room for 6 adults and 6 kids plus family dinners when other family came to eat from a second condo they stayed in.

Steamboat Grand is kick arse, we always stayed there when we went to Music Fest (before we had kids of course). It's in the middle of it all.

Just to clarify - we are not against a condo by any means. I've just had a hard time finding 4+ bedroom condos. They are insistent on at least 4 bedrooms as there are multiple families going.

We went with 5 families last year to Winter Park. We rented a big house that would accommodate all of us. Winter Park has a shuttle system that runs all day and it was about a 10 minute ride to and from the resort. There are lockers to rent so you dont have to bring your gear back and forth.

VRBO and AirBNB are going to be the best resource for something of that size. Crested Butte has multiple options. Booking this far ahead will allow you to find what you want at most larger resorts.

Have done this a number of times. Copper Mt seems to have more ski in/out . Also Snowmass and Vail have a fair amount . Breck has some bigger houses on small feeder runs too
