Roadtrip: Atlanta to Blacksburg, VA

Roadtripping to Blacksburg, VA, and need some recommendations on pit stops, landmarks, site-seeing, tourist traps, etc...
I have the whole day to make the trip and plan on making several stops. I also plan on going through Asheville instead of Charlotte for the more scenic route.

As far as the Georgia part, I'd go 575>515>60>Spur 60>74. That will take you through the Nantahala Gorge on your way to Asheville. Big Uns BBQ would be a good stop for breakfast about 5 miles north of Jasper on 515.
