This festival has been going on for decades and I saw special about it on TV the other night, it looks pretty interesting but it's a long ways away.
Has anybody here been to it ?

Not been, but have been thinking of it as well. Didn't get it in mind until it was too late this year. There's a town a couple hours or so below Houston that has one also that I found. Look forward to seeing what those who have been have to say!

Against better judgement, I googled this event...

They catch em, weigh em, pay em (folks participating in the round up) then milk, skin and eat them (the rattlesnakes).
Went a few times as a kid when we lived in Ft. Worth.

My parents are from Sweetwater and Roscoe. My grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousins still live in Sweetwater. I've been plenty of times, but all when I was much younger. It's pretty sweet. Something cool to do once, if you aren't from the region but want to make a trip to check it out.

Do any of the teams offer the opportunity for others to tag along while they catch the snakes? That would be kick arse.
