My roommates did that hike last year.

My summer will be dedicated to hiking up and skiing down. Trying to make turns in every single month of the year. Ideally multiple times each month. Last year I we summited peak 10 at Breck on July 3rd and ski'd 4th of July Bowl.

I also wanna spend a ton of time in the Zirkel Wilderness. Little Agnes and Mt. Zirkel would be fun peaks to bag.

My favorite hike thus far has to be between:

The Narrows

-and-

Grinnell Glacier

I plan on doing a ton of hiking this summer since I'm working at Glacier. On my list are Ptarmigan/Iceberg, Cracker Lake, and Dawson Pass. I will probably do the Highline as well.

Not this season. I put in for interpretive ranger and was referred but have not heard back from HR. I'm gonna be working out of West Glacier in campgrounds; i.e. Avalanche, Fish Creek, Apgar, etc.

Chilkoot Trail. trans national, so you have to get permits from USA and Canada... and if you're a history buff it's a must

Just in town..

Mt. Jumbo

Mendenhall Glacier Ice Caves

Thunder Mt.

Hard to pick out favorites, there are hundreds of choices just in the local area.

Bucket list is Aniakchak, a volcanic caldera that has a lake that flows out to sea. Only 1bout 100 people make it there in a year, it's remote and weathered in much of the time. Hike in, raft out. Takes 2-3 weeks to fly there, hike in and raft out.

Yeah, the raft trip out is a gauntlet of bears as well.

Pemigewasset Loop New Hampshire. Tough 35 miles. Up and over 8 4000'ers.

Anything in Glacier. Iceberg was great. Two Medicine area has some really good hike also. Can't really go wrong for the most part.

Colorado Trail this summer. Trying to knock out 200 miles or so. Hopefully have time for some 14ers also.

Holy shite guys. I will be hiking for the first time as an adult this weekend . Much simpler hike though. We are going to the blood mountains in Georgia. Seeing the pictures you all posted makes it seem like I am coloring in a kids menu with 3 crayons and y'all are painting Picasso's. Thanks for all the cool pics.

If you are hiking up to Blood Mountain from Neels Gap be ready. That's a tough hike. Up and down.

Have fun. I love that area also. I love all mountains though.

None of these are my pics.

Angel's Landing was a bucket list, I did a few years back. Didn't do the Narrows unfortunately, will go back for it.

North Kaibab Trail

Pretty much any trail in the Smokies during leaf peeper season, that's home to me, so homebrew bias on this one. Old growth on Ramsey Cascades is a personal favorite and Chimney Tops for fly fishing the creek for native brook trout.

Lots of trails in Yosemite I want to hike, didn't get to spend much time there to hike. John Muir through hike is pretty much never going to happen, but I can dream. Would like to do some of the Glacier ones that are already listed.

You've got me curious...

The hike reaches the Blood Mountain summit at 2.15 miles, having climbed 1400 feet elevation from the Byron Reece trailhead.
Not bad at all. Especially for the south! I might have to try that on fall break.

400' in the first mile, 1000' in the second mile.

Have fun

Can anyone recommend an easy and pleasant hike near Seattle? I will be in Seattle this summer for work and my wife and I would like to make a hike one day. Neither of us are experienced hikers but we are young and in decent shape. I'm just looking to take in some scenery in a beautiful part of the country. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you want to do something different one day. Find where the Appalachian trail crosses a road. Get some soft drinks, snacks and treats and give out to hikers. You will meet some really interesting people. I did that after hiking a week last year and had a blast.
