Going during Mardi Gras, splitting week here and at cabana Bay at Universal.

Our first day at the parks we have an 8:00 breakfast reservation at Be Our Guest, then second day an 8:10 at Askurshus. Should we use the bus or drive. I have read some say the busses get overly crowded going to MK. Though a bus skips the transportation center.

Epcot driving or the bus should be about the same length.

How is the bus system at PO riverside?

We have a pool view Royal Suite. I heard there are only two of these in Patiere and the rest are in Oak, are there any rooms or buildings better than the other for location?

ADRs, I set my ADRs way back six months ago.

We have.

Breakfast day one - Be Our Guest - QS (8:05)
Lunch - Snack
Dinner - Skipper Canteen - TS (6:30p)

Breakfast day 2 - Askushus - TS (8:10)

Dinner - Sci fi drive in (just doing half day in HS) - TS (6:30p)

Dinner day 3 - Chefs De France - 8pm TS

That uses all my Table Service credits, I still would have three Quick Service credits to use and the snacks.

Any ones I picked no good? Kinda wonder about France, but I wanted to try it. France is the only land I haven't eaten in (and Norway, which will also be covered)

Any resort tips for Port Orleans.

Our general plan is one full day at Magic Kingdom.

A morning and early afternoon at epcot, evening at HS.

Then a morning at Animal Kingdom, then an evening at epcot.

Then a day off and two days at Universal.

POR is a huge resort with a lot of bus stops.

To make your morning ADRs I definitely would not use the bus system to try and make it on time. Either drive, Uber or take a cab.

Enjoy your stay!

This, use uber if you have to be somewhere at a specific time.

I would not uber to magic kingdom first thing in the morning, they are going to drop you off in the parking lot and you still have to take the tram or boat right? If you get there at 7:15 or so you'll be in one of the first rows of parking.

Are there early extra magic hours that day? The bus system will be very busy if everyone from the resort can get in at 8, it won't be as busy if it doesn't open until 9.

I'd probably still take the bus although like you said it will be busy. Waiting for the tram and ferry will be more hassle than waiting on the bus IMO and then you can bus it home.

ETA: Give yourself more time than you think. The big benefit of eating an early breakfast at BOG is that as soon as you are done you are one of the first people in the back of the park. So you want to get to breakfast early and finish early, and as you know walking into the park and getting to BOG takes longer than you think. We gave ourselves 45 minutes to park, take the ferry/ tram in, and get to BOG and it wasn't nearly enough time. Got to BOG about 10 minutes late. Given, I think the park opened at 8 with extra hours that day.

WE have always taken the bus and was never late. If you are worried about not making it, Uber to the Contemporary and walk over to MK. It is literally across the street.

As far as your ADR's, it is all personal preference but I am not a big fan of Chefs. I much prefer Tuto or Via Napoli. Everything we have tried at Chefs was bland and way underseasoned. Also, the last two times we tried them, our waiter was a POS. We tried to get a manager last time because the service was so bad and he tells us that the manager is unavailable then walks away. THEN he had the balls to chase us down because we did not leave a tip. Anyway, I digress. Enjoy your trip!

It's been a few years since we've been, so any advice I could give would be dated (we love the place). However, this website is fantastic for info and has an active forum if you need info that can't be found.

I had a night BOG reservation, but then decided we wanted to go to Epcot that night because of magic hours, at that point the places I really wanted were already booked. Having never eaten at Chefs I feel I'll give it a chance.

I'm leaning towards Uber to Contemporary.
Then we can bus back later and not worry about the car.

I need to look into Uber, there are four of us total, don't know if we would need XL then.

the only early ADR we have is in AK, Tusker House breakfast at 820.
I think we'll be fine with taking the bus.

Also, I already checked in, do I just get assigned a room by email? Or do I still have to go to the front desk?

If you have a Royal room, you should be in the Plantation side of the resort. I am pretty sure that Alligator Bayou does not have any Royal rooms. The Plantation homes are across the river from the main lobby/food court. I think Riverside has about 4 bus stops. We have done early breakfast reservations and always used the bus. Just plan ahead for the walk from the bus, through ticketing, security, and to the restaurant. The walk to Akershus in Epcot will take a while.

There is a lounge in the main building that I heard has a good singing act in the evenings. There is also a pool bar. It sells Abita beer.

Have fun.

I haven't stayed at POR, but my experience with early check-in online at other on-site hotels was that I would get a text with my room # and map of the resort once the room was ready. Never had to hit the front desk on either stay.

Driving is going to be the fastest and cheapest.

There all good. They don't offer the best value on the dining plan but use your snacks and counter services wisely and you'll do okay.

ALOT of changes announced today with River of Light and those dining packages being available so if you feel like dropping a table service a Dining Package meal at Tusker House would be great addition (but it would meal altering your plans).

Nice. I was hoping it was something cool like that.

I think I am the most excited. Disney reminds me of Childhood memories.

Dammit now Sweet Child of Mine is stuck in my head.

Nope. Your Magic Band is your room key. They will text you the room info when your room is ready, if you registered a mobile phone on your MyDisneyExperience Profile.

ETA: We just stayed at POFQ at Thanksgiving for a week and never had to go to the front desk at all.
