What the hell is going on there this weekend? Just looking for one night tomorrow night and nothing under $300 downtown/ CBD.

The only Marriott property available is $400+.

Marriot at Lakeway in Metairie is $1250.00

Must be something huge. Flights on Monday are insane too. Like $750 to Houston.

Krewe of Boo is this weekend but I wouldn't think that is it.

Despite what the OT baws want to think, Nola stays slammed for the most part on weekends from October through May.

In addition to the events already noted, you probably have 30 to 40 or so weddings in town. The Warriors play the Pels tomorrow night as well.

I remember reading something about hotels having major hotel price gauging in New Orleans over the past couple of years and it being an issue for tourism. Any else know anything about this?

I hadn't heard anything about that.
Seems awefully dumb though if they weren't pricing based off simple supply and demand.

There are something like 35,000 rooms in Nola so it would be a bad idea to artificially try to inflate prices or you will be stuck with a lot of empty rooms.

I doubt it takes up a ton of hotel rooms but the Mid City Porch Crawl is tomorrow.

That's postponed until a later date.
Probably freed up 10 hotel rooms. LOL

Damn. We are going down for our friends' 40th birthday and had no problem getting a room at the Ritz for $325

I have plans to go to Oktoberfest but really wish I could make this. Went last year for the first time and had a hell of a time.

Not sure about this weekend but next weekend is extremely busy in the city. The pels are hosting the Cavs on Saturday, saints hosting bears on Sunday, voodoo fest all weekend, oh that that Halloween stuff. It was almost impossible to find a hotel in the city for less than $300/night.

Produce Marketing Association (+18,000), American Psychiatric Association (+1,000), and some smaller conventions. There's an international jewellery show that is listed as +15,000 But I have no idea breakdown of in/out of tow .
