I've got a gregory bag that i've had for years but I need a new bag. I want something small and light that can hold a laptop, light jacket, a few other small things. I fly overseas about 4 times a month and am always in airports so comfort, durability, and utility are key. I'm looking at the two below, any other recommendations?

Timbuk2

Minaal

I have a Booq laptop bag and love it. Made really well.

Here's a link to their daypack. Available in other colors.

They're a little pricey, but the Osprey bags have a setup where a backpack detaches form a roller bag. I think Meridian is the model.

ETA: Eagle Creek has some nice ones too.

I'd opt for the model w/an integrated rain cover....rain seems to find me wherever I travel.

I really like the Timbuk2 linked in the OP. May have to snag one of those.

I picked up this in Korea years ago, in a pinch, and have used it ever since. It's not the best for traveling a lot, so looks that Timbuk2 will take its place.

Holy hell, I hope it is.

The link in the OP convinced me to order the Timbuk2 Command pack. I found it on Amazon for $69.

Ever decide on anything? My wife and I are going to South Africa in May so we've been reading about bags and what not. I have read quite a bit on Minaal, Osprey, tortuga, and Timbuk2.

I may pull the trigger on the Minaal - seems like a great way to pack and travel and use regularly for business and for leisurely travel. Wish there was a way I could actually try it out first. I do like the whole ecosystem deal, albeit at a price.

I got my Timbuk2 in the other day. I like the look/feel of it. Lots of good pockets and positioning. I'll be testing it out this week.

Are you using the large GR2? What about daypack size the GR1?

I use the Patagonia MLC. It's a nice bag with tons of cool features.
