Wife and I are visiting relatives near Seattle, WA and we staying one night in Victoria, BC. Looking for places to see, things to do, pubs to drink at, restaurant ideas from those you have been there. Preferable walking distance from our hotel which is one block from the harbor.
TIA

We took the Clipper from Seattle to Victoria before the LSU UW game years ago. Stayed at a hotel about a block from the dock. They had a combo round-trip and hotel deal where you could pick the hotel you wanted to stay at. The trip was beautiful through Puget Sound.
We toured the government building and gardens and then drank beer all day. I remember a friend who stayed at the Empress said it smelled like old musty wood. The other thing I distinctly remember was the alcohol was expensive.

Butchart Gardens.
It's been a while since I've been there, so I wouldn't want to recommend restaurants/bars, because I'm sure there are new places. Plus, we had kids with us, so we didn't eat where we wanted to eat.
However, I think you can probably just patrol the harbor area and something will jump out at you.

Do this! We did this over 20 years ago and it's still one of my favorite places. I'm a flower lover. But you don't need to be to enjoy it. My husband loved it too.
Didn't eat when we were there in July. It was a short cruise ship stop. We just walked around the harbor. Seemed to be pubs and restaurants all in that area.
