Lester knows the Caribbean hotel market very well FWIW.

I stayed La Cabana Beach and Racquet Club a while back and it was great, right near eagle beach. Real easy to get to the downtown area. The Marriott near the end of the island I have only heard very nice things about, it's right next to the Ritz as well.

People wise, I was there two weeks after Natalie went missing so the people were not very friendly towards tourists. I'm sure it's changed quite a bit since then and you'll have a great time

Looks nice for a relaxing vacation, but think we are looking for a more lively place on this trip closer to eagle or palm beach.

We are considering Marriott Stellaris vs the Hyatt

:Negative Post:

I went and wouldn't go back, but if I would....

Diving, horseback riding were the best.

Edit: the Hyatt is a really nice hotel.

What specifically did you not like about it?

I have been before. We are going back with kids at the end of July.

It is a desert island, outside the hurricane belt so you don't have to worry about weather. It is kind of windy there.

It is not a big party island, but there are casinos at most of the resorts. It is a good place to relax.

There is good snorkeling at a ww2, German ship wreck.

I found the restaurants to be fairly typical of resort areas.

The Hyatt is very nice.

I'm going snorkeling, scheduled a bar hopping trip, and there's a national park that I will be doing some hiking at. There's a natural pool, dos playas, and some other natural scenery that you can hike to apparently.

Snorkeling was great, renting a jeep type vehicle and driving the windward side of the island was great. Several good restaurants. Services was not good. I think there may be a service union there and they have little motivation to go above and beyond.

Not much to do and the diving in Belize and Roatan is much better and a lot easier to get there.
