Is there anything to do that time of year? Or will it be boring. I have access to a free beachfront room and trying to decide if it's worth the trip. I have 3 kids under 11.

The kids will be bored and you will be miserable. I'm not trying to be difficult, but I wouldn't do it. Unless you want to do nothing but eat, play putt putt and race go carts.

Wouldn't be a bad trip for an adult if the weather was nice, which is a crapshoot.

thanks for the info - I've never been and I didn't know if it was a typical beach town (sounds like it is) or if there was anything interesting to see/do

In my opinion it's probably the best time to go. You'll have the place to yourself....and Canadians. Obviously you probably won't be swimming in the ocean but there should be enough to do. Fall and winters are mild on the coast of SC.
