Maui brewing

Sunrise bike tour at -Haleakala - we used Haleakala Bike Co and would recommend them. Seeing the sun rise from above the clouds is nothing short of magical.

If you go out to eat for one meal, make it Mama's Fish House...expensive but soooo worth it. You won't need to dress up but no tank tops

Road to Hana is cool and I hate saying this but after a while how many more waterfalls can one person see. My suggestion would be to focus on quality with the road to Hana rather than quantity.

If you want a Lua, Old Lahaina Luau and Feast at Lele were both awesome.

Rent a converatble.

Wal Mart and Costco are both by the airport, make a grocery list and stop there after you pick up your rental car.

There is a shopping center on Honoapiilani Hwy that has the Maui Ocean Center, a bar called Beach Bums and the Maui Gift Center. Maui Gift center us a greta place for souvenirs (along with the local ABC stores) and Beach Bums is a cool place to kick back a few beers while the significant other does some shopping.

Loved maui. Favorite out of all the islands in hawaii.

Piiholo Ranch Zipline was really entertaining. Road to Hana was also a great experience. Take the advice above and really pick out the key spots you want to stop at cause it can be a long journey.

Places to eat- Mama's fish house is delicious

The Annabelle magic show is hilarious.

Drive up past Kaanapali and check out the North side if you like nature.

Hana tour was neat, you can drive it yourself or they have tours that take you to all the best spots including ending at a winery.

Luau anywhere, most of the hotels in that area will have them.

Snorkel Molokini and then they take you over to snorkel with the sea turtles while watching whales on your way out.

Very underrated. The meal before, if I remember, is small portions and very good. We ended up seated at the table by the stage and became part of the show.

For snorkeling/scuba this lady knows her stuff.
LINK

Suzzy Robinson (suerob@maui.net; 1-808-268-9840 ) is the owner and was our guide. She scouts the island and will put you in a great spot to see some fish. If you can get her to take yout to the turtle car wash.

Mama's Fish house is a a great place for dinner, try to get there before sunset.
Maui Cookie lady cookies are well worth it.
Surfing Goat was a cool little stop and there is a Vodka distillery not to far from there.

I would recommend renting a jeep/convertible and just driving around. Also, I think someone mention Maui revealed, that is a great book to get and plan some stuff out.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

That was so much fun. We probably had one too many beers in that last tow before the bottom, but man it was awesome.

Merrimans is absolutely beautiful for dinner. It is about 10 minutes past Lahina.

Also the road to Hana was great but it was also grueling, we did the whole loop and ended up back in Kihei. It was a great drive all the way around the island and was much more enjoyable than driving all the way back through that shite show in the afternoon.

- Take a boat (there are a number of snorkel tour boats) out to Molokini (volcanic crater) and snorkel.

- If you're in Lahaina, hit Kimo's for some solid seafood on the water.

Purchase the Maui Revealed book (the locals refer to it as the Blue Book). It's not a "pay for advertising" travel guide. It's a book written by people who live on Maui and reveals the local secrets (i.e. hidden beaches, waterfalls, times to avoid traffic, best local restaurants, etc.)

The Blue Book pisses off some locals because some locals don't like tourists visiting the hidden spots, but you're paying to go there and you're a US citizen so frick them! You deserve to see the REAL Maui no different than anyone else.

The book looks like this:

Have fun. I recommend you spend all your time on Maui. Don't waste time island hopping on your first trip there.

Good luck.

Take the Molokini tour that ends at "Turtle Town". Turtle Town is a place very near to Tiger Woods' Maui home where sea turtles come out of their underwater caves and swim with you.

Very much worth the money!
