Anyone ever been and can recommend some good things to do/places to eat. We will be passing it and the wife wants to stop...

From what I can gather there are two Build A Bears there.

To the Mall of America's credit, they're undergoing redevelopments to make the place a bit more "upscale." There's an office tower, higher-end retail stores, and JW Marriott opened a beautiful hotel. If you want to eat at MOA, I'd check-out Cedar + Stone. Haven't eaten there, personally, but a couple friends have said good things.

Honestly, I'd be totally fine never going to MOA again.

My wife had a training at the new JW there back in May. The hotel is really nice, and there's a Shake Shack in the Mall, but that's about all I can say about the food scene there.

Minneapolis on the other hand has some awesome bars/restaurants, and is a great city as a whole.

Yeah, I can't imagine going to any city and wanting to hang out for any appreciable time at the mall. Even if it just so happens to be the biggest one in the country.
