Livermore, CA
Possibly taking a job here and was looking for any information that could help with what part of town to live, entertainment, and typical feel of the city.

Not much to say. It's an East Bay burb. It has Bart stations, so you can easily ride into Oakland, Berkeley and SF. Tons to do there.

It's basically at the end of the Easy Bay area. It's fairly affluent but pretty milquetoast. But you can hop on BART and make a few A's games during the year. Head north from there to get in on some decent fishing in the Delta. Drive west to Hayward and then cross the San Mateo bridge and you'll be pretty close to Half Moon Bay.

re: Livermore, CA
I lived for a summer there in grad school and the city itself is pretty bland, but I was in my early 20s. It would be a good place to raise a family. The little downtown area is decent and has a couple nice restaurants, but other than that and the wineries, there just isn't a lot there. The big benefit is that housing is significantly cheaper than closer in and you're still really right in the Bay Area. It's a quick drive over to Oakland and the city and Palo Alto/South Bay aren't far at all.

The branch I would be working in is in Livermore, but would be open to surrounding areas. From what I have been reading, Dublin is more of the place for me to be as I am single and in my late 20's.

Thanks for the feedback

You could work in Dublin live in Oakland/SF and wouldn't be too bad. Livermore is a stretch. My home office is in Livermore so I go there once a month or so and it takes me 1.5 hrs to get back to SF during rush hour, ~45 to get to Oakland. About an hour to get there the few times I've gone in the AM.

I wouldn't live in Livermore or Dublin personally. Not a whole lot to do and the summers are pretty miserable(100 +)

And Livermore doesn't have a BART station yet FYI. They're supposed to be extending the line but who knows
