Kentucky Brethren - trip to Lexington and beyond

You guys and gals in Kentucky, please advise. We are coming from Little Rock mid August and are going through Lexington to stay a night at the Castle Post. Headed to Frederick, MD final destination. Looks like I-40 through Nashville may be fastest route but last time we were in that direction we drove the Kentucky Parkway a good ways.
Wondered if that would be a better/more scenic route. I recall there was not much traffic on it then. What is the speed limit on the Parkway and how strictly is it enforced ? Asking for a friend - LOL.

It just sold. Will be interesting to see what changes, if any, are made. I drive past it twice per day.
Anyway, on to your question. Your most direct route via Lexington would e I40 to Nashville, then I65 north to BG Parkway for about 70 miles, which ends about a mile from the Castle. Not the most scenic route, but likely the most efficient. BG Parkway is a nice drive, but not overly scenic. BG Parkway usually isn't that crowded.
Not sure if that helps you much.

Thanks for the reply. Last time we got on parkway in western KY, so drove it all the way to Lex.
Had some trouble with the Castle web site but got it cleared up and reserved for a night. Hoping the fireflies are still around then, new owners/staff said they are good right now. Saw them on a trip several years ago and they were awesome. Anyway, they did respond promptly to our inquiries so that's a plus I guess.
