Are you sure your flight is at 1pm? I'm only seeing a 9:30am or a 2:50pm flight for BHM-DFW on AA. The 2:50pm flight starts out in Amarillo tomorrow so that should be okay. I'd fully expect AA to try and get the plane out of mcallen in the morning (if it does end up coming from there) since they don't want to leave it anywhere near the hurricane

ETA: If you're delayed for any reason, there's flights through Charlotte, Philly or Chicago that'll get you to DTW easier than going through Dallas

does the updated forecast change anything with this

Going from NOLA to Dallas Friday afternoon, and Dallas back to NOLA Sunday afternoon. Do you foresee any issues there?

Flight is coming in from St. Louis to nola tomorrow, you should be good. Flight on sunday does kansas city to dallas to nola, sounds safer than any inbound flight from another city in texas

Yay for this thread. Thanks CuseTiger. Supposed to fly from NOLA to Denver Thursday afternoon. Should I consider booking out of somewhere else?

You're talking about a week from today correct (Aug 31)? Right now there's no waivers up past sunday for any of the airlines. Unfortunately this is a wait and see kind of event so hopefully they play it safe and allow you to change flights soon. Estimates right now have the storm over LA on wed/thurs so keep an eye out. This weekend (Sat or Sunday) we may see waivers go up for nola, just keep watch

Hey Cuse,

I've got a flight out of MSY on Wednesday the 30th on Condor to Frankfurt. I know it's still far out but do you have any idea what happens if flights are cancelled on a route like this that only operates on Wednesdays and Sundays? Anything I can do now?

Keep an eye out for any waivers. Most international flights don't like to cancel because they owe money on the EU side so even if there's a tropical storm/depression Condor may still fly

You're talking about tomorrow right? If so, leave as early as possible tomorrow morning

Are you on the 8:10am or the 3:30pm? If you're on the 3:30pm, call southwest and get on the 8:10am if you really want to get to austin. The 330pm flight is supposed to come from houston, would not risk that tomorrow

ETA: It's lunch time so I'll be back in an hr to help

Did you end up rebooking for a few days later? I'd much rather be in hawaii than this hot and humid weather...

Southwest update: They have included flights for today (Thursday) in their waiver so if you're flying tonight or tomorrow morning try and get out earlier if possible

Depends. If a hurricane hits here Tuesday do you have a house/car/yard that would need to be fixed up or do you not have many personal possessions and could just leave for the storm/come back when its over? My scenario is currently #2 but I know most on here are in #1. Based on the most recent euro model, if its a cat 3 or 4 you may actually be better off getting out of here and trying to leave on sunday then return on wed/thurs.
