Budget, desire for beach, mountains, in country, out of country? You have to give more info to get a decent answer...

Sorry, I'm looking to spend roughly $7000- $8000. Beaches and mountains are both options and wouldn't mind going out of the county since either one of us have never been. I see Punta Cana mentioned a lot just looking for more options. Thanks

Only problem with going down there, or anywhere in the Caribbean in October, is you're going to get rained on quite a bit.

I went to Jamaica in October 2015 and it rained every day for a week. Kinda sucked TBH.

If I had to do it all over again I probably would have picked some place like Breckenridge or Jackson Hole. Hell Gatlinburg would have even been ok for me.

Jamaica just seemed almost like a wasted trip with all the rain. I absolutely love anywhere in the Caribbean though. Just be careful booking for October, unless getting rained on is not that big of a deal for you.

Hawaii or 10 nights at excellence.

There's a lot you can do with that budget. For a honeymoon, I would stick to something relaxing and be able to get back to your room easily

Every year is a bit different but rain season is normally from April through November.

I went on a cruise down there (Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize, Honduras) in mid December 2015 and was told their season just ended the week before (and it was evident by murky water in some areas).

take mediterranean cruise. see lots of countries and history without having to unpack. also gives you broad perspective of where u may want to return and spend more time. see oceania cruise site. worth the money. just look close at excursion prices. thats where they make their $. start in rome or barcelona. get in day or so early to explore

Check out secret bay in Dominica. My wife and I stayed there for our honeymoon and it was awesome.

If you don't mind me asking, when did y'all go. Seen some responses that if I went to the Domincans, it would be during the rain season (November)

I'd go to Hawaii. You can get mountains and beaches at practically the same time. Stay in Kailua (on Oahu) and rent a car.

Some of the activities that I did on my trip:
Lanikai beach
Kailua beach
Bellows beach
Pillbox hike
Kokohead hike
Makapuu Lighthouse hike
Hanauma Bay snorkeling
Kayak out to The Mokes
Check out the Pipeline (surfers) on the Northshore
Dat Cajun Guy food truck on the Northshore

ETA: also eat some shave ice, garlic chicken, and poke
