Need recommendations for Condo's for 8 people. Two sets of teenagers. A young couple and the Wife and I.
I haven't been to the GS area in several years.

BTW, I'm OT poor, so lets not go crazy with the budget.

Phoenix 10. Nice mid-price condos and walk to FloraBama.

I would recommend going west of Gulf Shores, to Fort Morgan. Cheaper than GS or OB, and the beaches are much less packed.

The thing about Phoenix buildings are that they are getting old. You also have to share your section of the beach with everyone in that damn high rise not to mention the Phoenix buildings tend to attract more uncouth people.

Am I wrong in thinking that there is not much to do down that way? (for the teenagers)

I should say that my one caveat is that I am insisting that it have a balcony with gulf front view.

When are you going? Kind of last minute planning if you are trying for before school starts

I will recommend Le Lani, just over the bridge. Wide open beach on both sides, not crowded at all. Older smaller condo unit but has a place to shite and sleep and a peaceful beach.

Yep, very last minute. Going down on the 6th.
But kind of glad I waited. The condo prices have dropped since I looked at them a couple of weeks ago.

If they need to constantly be doing something to be entertained then no, there isn't a whole lot of that. The fort would probably be boring for them and other than that there isn't much besides a few bars. The Beach Club has a restaurant with a small arcade but I'm sure they would get tired of that quickly.

Check these sites:

Kaiser Rentals

Brett-Robinson Rentals

Always had good luck and nice places through those.

I have also found that going to the Property Management web sites (Brett-Robinson, etc) gives you much lower quoted.

my parents have one in Grand Pointe... I think they're booked but the location might fit you

Beach is fairly quiet, right on the jetty if your kids like to fish or watch boats come in and out all day, few restaurants across the street

it is a little older though, so the pool area is kinda meh

A relative of mine has a condo in Orange Beach called Caribe. I've been several times. It's really nice. Has it's own private beach access.
