Natural Bridge Caverns. It is a short drive from downtown.

We stayed the night in San Antonio this past weekend when we were driving a moving truck from BR to PHX to move my family's stuff. We decided to make the time to go to the Alamo before driving more.

If you have never been to the Alamo that is one way to easily spend an hour or so of your time(especially if you are a history buff). Also, you can easily walk to the Riverwalk from the Alamo and just wander around there. Their downtown area seemed cool from the small amount of time we were there.

ETA: If we were able to find parking downtown with a massive moving truck then ANYONE can find parking there We paid $5 to park in the parking lot of a Presbyterian church downtown, plenty of space. Walked like 3-4 blocks to the Alamo from there.

riverwalk of course
Alamo
Mexican market- 1 mile from riverwalk

Food- Rosarios, Chris Madrids, La Fogata

Not sure if its family or you and wife, but i love the New Braunfels area. its 30 minutes north and a great little German town.

They have an area of town there called Gruene which has a great old downtown with shops and general stores. They have Gruene hall where George Strait got his start. Grist Mill is a great home cooking spot behind the Gruene Hall. it sits on the Guadeloupe River. Great area

Plenty to do down there. Have fun

Great area. Best mexican food you will ever eat. Lots of ppl begging for money in downtown. The Mexican market is awesome, eat at MI Tierra right beside it. Alamo, for sure take a river cruise tells cool history of riverwalk. Caverns are good as well. Lots of good golf if that's your thing plus a Top Golf. Go up in the tower of America's and have dinner it's a cool experience

Check out San Antonio Bike Tours. Did a 4 hr with them in June and it was great. Recumbent bikes, easy riding , great way to see the city . They get loads of 5 star ratings on TripAdvisor
