First time in the city, what are the must-see's while I'm there.

I'll be there for 3 days.

Walk along the Riverwalk, Commerce street, and end up at the Spanish Market Square

Palmer course at La Cantera

We are taking the kids to seaworld and/or six flags in October

River walk is cool at night. Boat tours are cheap and a nice way to learn about the city although very touristy

I'd say head up to the observation deck on the Tower of the Americas for an awesome view of the city. There is also a restaurant and bar up there.

Aside from what others have said, we also enjoyed the hell out of natural bridge caverns and natural bridge wildlife ranch.

Alamo of course because you can't goto San Antonio without going, but if you have never been, don't expect too much.

We also spent a day going to check out all the old missions which was cool if you are into that kind of thing.

For food recommendations:

Guenther House for breakfast is an absolute must, my wife and I both loved that place.

Mi Tierra is also a cool Mexican restaurant that we actually ate at twice.

Natural Bridge Caverns. Not a far drive at all. Well worth the trip.

Second mi Tierra. It's open 24 hours and has a panadería inside of it, so it's the perfect drunken breakfast spot.

Definitely the Geunther House, awesome breakfast.
River Walk gets old after about a day and night.
The market is neat as well

San Marcos outlets are close too if shopping is on your trip

I'm going to jump on this thread. Possibly going next week for the same time span, 2 - 3 days. Daughter is 4, so that may limit some recommendations.

Also, are there any bad areas to avoid getting a hotel at? Trying to use points, and looks like the hotels around the Riverwalk are booked up as far as points go.

Clearly, you did not remember the Alamo.

Bumping this thread in case anyone who has been recently has more information to share. GF and I are taking a trip in October Thursday - Sunday.
