Going to Houston for Super Bowl - tips on seeing the spectacle?

I doubt I'll get tickets to the game for a price that I'm willing to pay, but I do want to see all the other things that go on around it. Has anyone been? Any tips? I'll be there Thurs-Mon.

The Super Bowl LI app has a pretty good schedule of events. Uses your phone's gps to tell you what's nearest you.

I'd take a single, but my price threshold is a small fraction of the market price. I know that I'm not getting in. I'm just checking out what's going on around it.
