My family (wife and 20 month old) have been invited to the BVIs on our friends' 200ft yacht. We are flying into St. Marten, hopping on the boat and sailing to BVI for a week.

I have been to BVI before, but about 20 years ago. We have endless options at our beck and call. The yacht has two 24 foot tenders, jet skis, dive and snorkel equipment, a full crew including a nanny.

I'd like to hit some secluded beaches, bars, restaurants, dive for lobster, etc. Price is not a limitation for this trip. Also, if we suggest something, the crew is up for it. For instance, if we say we want to sail to Anegada because we are bored in Tortola, they will pick up anchor and sail. If we want to dive, the crew will load up dive gear and take us to a reef.

Anything we cannot miss? anything kid friendly? (all 3 couples going have kids under 4)

Cooper Island - as you face the beach club, look to the left at the house on the cliff at the end of the island. We spent two weeks here and loved it. As you face the beach club, to the right is the RMS Rhone shipwreck, location of the filming of The Deep with Nick Nolte and Jacqueline Bisset. Not far from Cooper Island is Virgin Gorda.

Stay away from Tortola unless you want to kill someone...lol

Enjoy the trip, sounds awesome!!

Snorkeling. The bay to the left of the William Thornton on Norman Island. There's an area called the Aquarium. Amazing snorkeling. Then head over to the William Thornton (Willie T) for an afternoon of drunken debauchery.

Of course, Jost Van Dyke and Foxy's and the Soggy Dollar. The next bay over (Great Harbor) also has a great beach and some good bars.

Lunch or dinner at Peter Island is a nice diversion.

Then there's the wreck of the Rhone for diving and Scrub Island for diving. There's another wreck NW of Virgin Gorda but it's for advanced divers only.

While I have no doubt the crew of this ship can get you to Anegada, it likely wont be on the 200 ft yacht (unless they have changed the mooring situation recently).

This is going to sound wrong but that almost seems like too big of a boat to get around the BVIs. So many of the sails or motors between islands are under a day if not just a couple of hours and very small inlets. Of course, with some tenders can move around in those just as easily and leave the ship at say Bitter End.

Snorkeling as all have mentioned, Soggy Dollar Bar, Pusser's for happy hour at Soper's Hole, Willie T's, Anegada is awesome, just a lot to mention, and certain the crew will have a damn good idea of where to go.

Enjoy!

I liked Jost Van Dyke and Norman Island. We honeymooned on Peter Island and it was very nice. Plenty of boats anchor up and spend an afternoon and night off Deadmans Bay.

I foresee three incredible photo journal posts coming from your awesome trip:

1. Pictures of the yacht owners wife
2. Pictures of the yacht itself
3. Pictures of wherever you go

I read the Sticky. Felt this one deserved its own since thread titles were Turks and Caicos (totally different area) and St. John (USVI)

Speaking of the sticky thread.

Turks & Caicos shouldn't be listed under the BVI. Turks & Caicos is in the British West Indies. It's not close to the BVI.

St. Joh is in the USVI but it is adjacent and very close to the BVI.

The boat makes this unique enough for a thread regardless of what is in the sticky...

Enjoy. You'll have to dinghy to the Willie T if you want to go there (and you should) That thing is way to big to pull up alongside.

We did Anegada but we had a 52' MY. If they can get that lady in there it would be a challenge. I was not enthralled with the place but did enjoy diving on the Japanese refrigerator ship about half way, when at that time had a HUGE grouper on her but there was no place we grabbed a ball we did not love. We did our own crew so for our anniversary went to the seafood buffet at Little Dix Bay after a day at the spa then the bar. It was a bucket list trip for me after I got me certifying our bumch as OW Divers and for our anniversary. You will love it!!!!
