We will be staying near The Strand. Just heading to the Gálvez to swim and around the strand. We are staying at the Treemont.

I'm here in Katy so we are nearby but things in Galveston change often. Just wondering what good food and drink places and tourist things there are?

1. The water wall place on the strand was a beer garden last year. Did that make it?

2. There was a Brews Brothers place that was pretty cool. Did it make it?

3. Is there anything new? Any beer needs to be family friendly beer. So Dimitris is a negative.

4. Moody Gardens is a negative. That place is too damned expensive. Been there a couple times.

GOD DAMN IT!!!

Forgot it was here. It's a fairly new board.

More eyes here anyway, but admins please move if so inclined. I'd prefer that to whacking.

Yes and Justin is a hoot!

Try Beerfoot down the seawall between 28th and 29th.

If you've never taken a historical tour, it's actually one of the better things you can do for a few hours. There's one that takes you out to the dolphins for the second half of the tour.

Take the ferry at sundown to the island and back for the hell of it. Skip the car line, go park and you can walk on.

Actually, i want to do the B-17 plane ride at the Air Museum. I would have recommended that for you but obviously your ghetto Katy self can't afford it.

The Tremont is my favorite hotel in Galveston. Cool roof top bar there, check it out for sure.

Rudy and Pacos for dinner.

That is a solid idea that I will decline for reasons that are not monetary. Pure cowardice. I've seen that big bastard while I played golf next to the airport. I bet it feels and sounds like a single wide that has the ability to fly.

Stayed there last time. I won't stay anywhere else. Maybe the San Luis, but I don't care enough about Galveston water.

The Treemont is a history lesson. They have a menu from the hotel in 1890something. Very cool. Also the lobby bar is an old hand carved bar.

No Robert Durst Museum in Galveston is complete without a Q and A with those mentally handicapped jurors.

Galveston is easily one of the worst vacation spots in America. You could find more stuff to do in Baton Rouge

Is it really a vacation spot or is it a one day excursion for Houstonians?
