We are headed to Denver and need to bring a car seat for junior janky. Can we gate check it to make sure it doesn't get lost? Anyone done this before? Thanks.

Yes. You can't use it in the airplane seat.

You can gate check it. I didn't bother because we needed 2 and I didn't want to lug them around the airport. If you're renting a car you can get one from them.

We aren't renting a car. My FIL is picking us up. Did y'all buy a bag to carry it in?

If it is approved, which most new ones are, you certainly can.

Some airlines will wrap it in plastic when you check in.

You can gate check it or baggage check it for free. FYI, there is a 90% chance your car seat will get damaged if you check it.

I want to gate check it make sure we have it when we land. They can lose my luggage, but I don't want them to lose the seat.

We recently flew with my daughter and I ordered this off Amazon. It was really easy, just put the car seat in it, check it in with your bags, and pick it up with your luggage. Makes it much easier to carry also since you can use it as a backpack.

Car Seat Roller

Buy one of these and gate check the seat. IIRC it comes with a bag that fits the seat and the roller into one package to protect the seat. It's worth every penny. We just attached the seat to the roller and pulled the kid through the airport. She loved being hauled around and it made it easier on us.

Make sure you clean out the car seat before you go though. I ended up having to sweep half a box of lucky charms off of the terminal floor when I took the seat out of the bag on arrival...

ETA: No offense Willie, but your car seat must be much lighter than mine. Our Britax is built like a brick shithouse and must weigh 25 lbs. no way am I hauling that on my back through the airport.

We just flew with a car seat and stroller. Highly recommend that car seat bag and gate checking the car seat and stroller if bringing one too. The car seat bag also let us pack a bunch of stuff in there coming back that would have made our suitcase overweight since they didn't weigh the bag.

Gate check it. Dont check it with the regular luggage it will get messed up.
I use one of those big black plastic lawn bags. Dont forget a twist tie or zip tie.

They used to give you bags but I guess that was an expense that was paying back.

Yep. I checked two different car seats each once in my lifetime. Both came back broken each time.
