Whether its somewhere in Louisiana to go, or to Houston, or somewhere on the coast...
Looking for a quick getaway. Leave early Saturday before the kids are up and come back late Sunday.

You are petty limited with that schedule.
Option 1 if you can afford is the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear.
Option 2 is the new Margaritaville family resort in Biloxi.
Option 3 is head to Nola and stay at the Hilton Riverside and take the kids to the aquirium, insecterium, City Park for paddle boats, mini golf, and mini amusement park.
Of course it's hot as hell so option 3 doesn't seem as appealing.

I'm sure you've already been, but if you haven't, and depending on the age of your kids, head to Nola and see the WW2 musuem. Even if you've been, but it's been a few years, go back. That thing is freaking incredible, and if you are a history/museum buff, it could easily take two days to see everything.
