My wife is trying to convince me to go to Disney the week we're off btw Christmas and NY's. We're 34 and 28 no kids and like active vacations w good food and wine. Is this something I should check out? I have never been.

If you like waiting in line with no booze.

I never understood disney without kids, but everyone has their own thing so I don't knock it. However, if you are into good food and wine, I wouldn't think that Disney is a top destination. I know some will come on here and say that Disney has great restaurants and stuff, but that isn't their main draw and I would guess they are priced with a premium for being in Disney.

Would not recommend, one of the busiest weeks of the year. There are a select few good restaurants, most in Disney Village but you will pay a premium price. Except for Epcot Food and Wine Festival,Disney is NOT a great food/drink destination.

But as others have mentioned, long arse lines, and hope ur not there when a bunch of Central and South American Children in groups are there, talk about ignorant and zero mannered bastard kids.

Universal is nicer than Disney.

WTF, this is completely false. There are several world renowned dining options at Disney.

Don't. Too many amazing places to see in the world to waste a childless trip on Disney, especially for the money.
This is coming from someone who has been to Disney 18+ times.
Also, we did a family trip there for NYE last year...it is miserably crowded. Don't do it.

Epcot
Not magic kingdom
Then hit up downtown Disney
See the live acrobat show

We went in late January last year. Crowds were extremely low. We had an absolute blast. Drank around the world at Epcot.
And Le Cellier steakhouse in Epcot was fantastic

Disney has plenty of good dinning, but that is one of the busiest weeks of the year and all the best places are probably already booked.

Disney can be plenty fun for adults, however, DO NOT GO THAT WEEK. It will be absolutely miserable. Way too busy that time of year.

That's the busiest week of the year. Think about it, everyone from up north that is snowed in and in frozen temps goes to warm up.
Nothing wrong with Disney for adults, but no way I'd go that week.

I would suggest any other week but that one. Especially if it is your first time or if you haven't been in a while. We are childless but we have an absolute blast every year there. It's all about your timing. Like others have said, that is the busiest week of the year. Especially at Magic Kingdom.

Disney is awesome, but that is literally the WORST time of year to go.

We were there last year at that time and it was like ants on a messed up pile !!

I've been to Disney several times with my wife before kids were born, including our honeymoon.
Lots and lots of fun. There are plenty of great places to eat.
However, that week is the absolute worst week of the year to go to Disney. I've been that week before, and I will never, ever, ever go again that week. Horrific. Crowded. Expensive.

Me and my gf went, we are pretty similar in age to y'all. I had a great time. Universal studios definitely has better rides and serves alcohol, more adult friendly. We did magic kingdom for a day just for nostalgia, it was fun but no alcohol served there. The laser show at the end of the night was really awesome. Of course Epcot and the around the world is a great time. I'm not sure what your budget is but we did the 7 course dinner with wine parings at Victoria and Albert's. It's one of the best meals I've ever had. I think it's one of the top 50 restaurants in the US.
