Direct flights out of MSY?

I need to getaway for a long weekend and prefer to go to Mexico or the Bahamas. Looks like Southwest no longer does the direct to Cancun...looking for direct out of MSY to a resort destination.

You can fly direct to Panama City, Panama and Miami.

You heard right, but those flights don't start until next may unfortunately. Will be nice to have direct access to europe from msy soon

I would absolutely love to see MSY-AMS or MSY-CDG but not likely to happen. I do however wonder what happens in 2018 when the new MSY opens.
