Staying at the Willard across from the White House. Looking for some good lunch and dinner spots in that general area.

if you get over by the library of congress, go to We the Pizza.
i don't have any recs near the white house, but enjoy. it's a great city to be a tourist in.

Don't leave the Willard... just drink at the Round Robin.
Honestly I love oyster happy hour at Old Ebbits around the corner.
Another favorite is Tosca just a couple blocks away.

We The Pizza was good.
Also close to the White House was Founding Farmers. We ate brunch there but I'm pretty sure it's open all day.

Occidental Grill next to Willard has good mussels. Old Ebbitt is touristy so I always like to go to the Hamilton instead.
Le Diplomate and Pearl Dive were popular when I lived there as well. Little bit further away.

District Chophouse on 7th Street is excellent.
