Corpus Christi is fine. Rockport and Port Aransas are still total wrecks.

For food check out Railroad Station or Yardarm for seafood, Kiko's for Mexican Food, and BBQ Man (lunch). We have all the usual chain places. We have a ton of great taquerias. If you are driving along and see a place, odds are it's got good tacos.

If you are looking for fine dining, the Republic of Texas on top of the Omni is ok.

If you venture out to North Padre, Snoopy's Pier is a great local seafood dive, Costa Sur, Dragonfly, and Black Sheep Bistro are also good joints on the island. Mikal May's is a beach bar/restaurant on Bob Hall Pier. Food is ok, but the view is really nice.

Edit: Corpus does have Uber now. But if you flew in, I'd just rent a car.

if you are there on a Thursday or Friday check out Pier 99 on North Beach. seafood isn't that great compared to LA, but the atmosphere is pretty cool sitting out side looking at the USS Lexington. Normally have live music too.

Republic of Texas on top the Omni is good too if you are looking for a good steak.

Judging from your TD handle you might want to checkout Mama Mia's downtown. Bring cash though. They are old school Italian and wont take a card.

I have heard that they take cards now. But I'd defiantly double check first. It's a great suggestion!
