I wanted to say under $200 but doesn't look like that's an option

$200 if possible but I guess $250 max

I'll look, but that's a tough price range, especially on such short notice.

Check:

Langham Boston
The Buckminster
The Hyatt in East Boston
The Doubletree near JFK Library
The Omni Parker (BEST RECOMMENDATION)

Ok. You think it's ok to stay outside of downtown and just use public transportation and Uber to get around?

FYI we love walking around. Not uncommon for us to do 20/30k steps a day on vacation

I know as long as you're near a T stop you'll be fine.

Did you look for some Airbnb's? With just a single person, I'd think you could snag an Airbnb for pretty cheap.

As for AirBnB, I would just make sure it's reasonably close to a T stop. Stayed in Somerville last year about a 10 min walk to Davis Square, and it wasn't too much trouble or too expensive to get around.

Even outside city you can get around on T
and uber if you need to

We used T to go all the way to JFK library
Used T for most everything

Only used uber once entire trip (week) in Boston
Certain areas of Boston are easy to walk as well

I know it's a touristy thing, but if you do the Duck Tour early in your trip it really helps you get the lay of the land in Boston and helps you navigate the city easily after that.

No problem.

Sonsie - Great spot on Newbury Street. If the weather is nice they have seating right by the open windows.

Legal Seafood/Harborside - Legal is a local chain of restaurants, so "Legal Seafood" and "Legal Harborside" are essentially the same thing, just different locations. My opinion is that there are better restaurants in the city, but it's a pretty solid place overall, especially if you're trying to get local seafood. Definitely go to the Legal Harborside before any other, as it has the best views.

Mama Maria - I've actually never been, so I can't really give much advice. But it's Italian food in the North End, so I'm sure it's good. I have other recs for the North End if you're interested.

Joe's - Just no.

Look into:

Prezzo
Giacomo's
Tresca

All great options. Not to say that the ones you named are bad choices, just giving you a few more to choose from.

Getting from the airport to the Club Quarters Hotel. Cab or something else. There are four of us with luggage. Again, I appreciate your thoughts. We land today at 5:30 so I'm sure traffic will be a bitch.

Traffic will suck landing at 5:30. You can choose to take a cab, which would probably cost about $30 or so depending on the traffic.

Another option if you aren't in a rush (and aren't lugging too many heavy bags) is taking the T, which is actually free. You take the Silver Line bus from the airport, which will drop you off at South Station. From there, board the red line train going to Alewife and get off at the very next stop: Downtown Crossing. From there, you'd be only a block or two from your hotel.

I think they'd take about the same amount of time due to traffic.

Thanks a ton. Our flight is delayed but en route so that's the reason for the rush hour arrival. I would hope that the T heading downtown would be manageable as I would guess that the crowd would be rolling away from there.

I don't think it would be too bad...that silver line route is primarily airport travelers. The red line might be a little busy given the time of day, but you're only going one stop so it shouldn't be too bad.

Honestly, the more I've thought about it, the more I'd recommend taking the T. Traffic in the tunnel can be an absolute nightmare at times, so the T is the more reliable route. Plus, as I mentioned, it's free, which is a nice bonus.

I'll bump
The post... been here since Sunday and I am very impressed with Boston... everything is clean and within walking distance ... been to several great restaurants and bars ( Yvonne's and Eastern standard)
As for the history nerd in me, you can be walking along downtown and boom, it's where the Boston Massacre happened .. so much history .

Catching the Sox-cardinals game tonight so I've been over around Fenway all afternoon and gotten drinks at Bleacher bar which is a cool little venue .

Boston is quickly vaulting up my list of favorite places

I've stayed off Washington street, and while I could've taken the T, I've mostly walked everywhere, taken a couple of Ubers, but most of it can be easily walked .

The weather has been amazing, low 80's during the day .

I can vouch for AbitaFan here. Myself and a few others were in Boston this time last year and all of his recommendations are on point. Definitely go to Harpoon. Their beers are great and the pretzels may be even better. In regards to the BP tour, do it. We did and it was awesome.
