Wife and I enjoyed the market pavilion hotel. Perfect location! We just enjoyed walking around and eating drinking and being Merry

The Vendue hotel. Very nice hotel in the middle of town with great cocktail lounges, both inside and on the rooftop. Charleston is a great restaurant city. Some of our favorites are FIG, SNOB and the Peninsula Grill.

The Dewberry.
Hands down the best place to stay in Charleston. Service is second to none, spa is great, Henrietta's is a great place for breakfast, their bar program is great, King Street is a short walk across Marion Square.
Darling Oyster Bar, FIG, Husk, The Ordinary, Callie's Hot Biscuit, take a car out to Sullivan Island-eat at The Obstinate Daughter and tour Ft. Moultrie, Patriots Point and visit the Yorktown, walk the neighborhoods around Church St toward the Battery, Museum Mile...one of my favorite places I've ever been in the States.

Hard to beat, especially if staying on the concierge level.

This. Be sure to have drinks at the Vendue rooftop.
Walk the battery. Take a ferry to Ft Sumter. Hit the markets. Walk King street. Eat, eat, eat.

From my friend who lives in Charleston...on where to eat:

You almost can't go wrong..... Fig, Husk, 167 Raw, The Ordinary, Charleston Grill. My favorite place is R Kitchen (if you can get a reservation).... they seat about 18 guests three times a night and cook an inventive meal right before your eyes in an intimate kitchen setting.

Lewis BBQ, Nana's kitchen. Breakfast places I like are Harold's Cabin and Obstinate Daughter
