Along the bay, downtown, etc.? Also what are some good hotels at a reasonable price? Going to Hawaii for 5 days prior to San Francisco(subtle brag)

I could look at reviews but I will get info from here and people that live around there

Eta: this trip will be in May this year

Stay downtown near market. All the human shite on the sidewalk is lovely this time of year!

I stayed at Hotel Zelos this past summer. It was right next to the cable car stop and easy to get everywhere

This kind of response is why the OP should ask this kind of question on the travel board.

I'd stay out in Napa, if I were you. You can drive back and forth to see/do things.

Downtown is on the bay. Check out the Garden Orchard hotel. It's a great location.

What is your budget? You can stay outside the city and take a train to downtown and Uber from there. Parking and walking up those hills is a nightmare.

We are big fans of Hotel Vitale. Great location, boutique feel but not boutique sized.

Second to Westin St Francis. Go back this Christmas.

Fairmont is also really nice, and obvious great location. Fun bar.

Tons of good choices, have a great time.
