Wife and I went to Secrets Maroma beach 2.5 years ago. We loved it. Good food and drinks and plenty to do. Option to leave resort and go to town, but we didn't even do that. Only thing we did was get a cab to take us about 45 minutes away to the dock for deep sea fishing.

I went to Live Aqua for a bachelor party this summer and it was amazing. We had a blast and everything was top notch. The food was actually very good especially the sushi bar (which surprised us).

Generally speaking, it was a pretty quiet resort. There is one pool that has a bar built into it that is the "party pool" but it is away from the other pool areas. Really ideal setup.

We stayed at Paradisus la Perla in Playa and really enjoyed it. The food and service were both outstanding.

I thought Secrets was very reasonably priced. Cheaper than just about everything else that offered the same kind of stuff. I believe we found it through tripadvisor, and it got great reviews so we looked into it more and then went. I'd go back for sure.

Went to a bachelor party in Cabo a few years back, stayed at Riu Santa Fe. I ton of choices to eat food wise and more booze then one could ever ask for, including a shot carousel in your room that was of course unlimited consumption.

It was a short five minute cab ride into downtown right in the middle of it all so you did not feel secluded or trapped at the resort if you wanted to venture outside of the walls. We had an awesome time and If I were looking for an all inclusive resort with a party atmosphere that was close to a big town I would definitely go back

Really just depends what your budget is like. My wife and I just went to Grand Princess Riviera in Playa 3 months ago. All in, flying from Shreveport, was right about $1,700 for four nights. Great resort and plenty to do. Had a swim-out suite and the grounds were really nice. You could stay at the resort the whole time and there is ton to do.

If adults only, I just booked the new Unico Riviera Maya. Maybe a tad on the pricey side, but it looks promising.

If you're staying at a resort and don't plan to leave, you'll probably be spending time at their beach. Not every resort's beach in Cabo is safe for swimming. Some there is no swimming allowed. It's a steep coastline with lots of rocky sections. Where it's not rocky, the "sand" isn't really sand, it's more like gravel. Just something to keep in mind when/if researching Cabo and going to the beach and getting in the water are important to you.

But the fishing is amazing there

Well in that case, why don't you send him links to resorts in Banff?

I took the family to Dreams Tulum last Mardi Gras. I would recommend it to anyone. It was more spacious and laid back than what I've seen in Cancun. Food was good, drinks were good, and the location was very nice.

If looking for adults only, I really liked El Dorado Royale in Puerto Morelos/Playa Del Carmen area. Got a good deal on the room thru Sams Club travel.

My all-inclusive experience is limited but there seems to be huge difference in resort that are adults-only. Good is much better, facilities seem much cleaner. Especially like Hyatt Zilara in Cancun
