Plan to hit up Sierra Nevada, Oscar Blues and wicked Weed. Will stunmble into some others as well. What else should I do during the sober moments? Restaurant destinations? Museums? Biltmore? Waterfalls? Suggestions from people familiar with the area are appreciated.

Highland, Pisgah, Green Man, French Broad, Asheville Brewing, are the real original Asheville breweries. Asheville was considered a beer city long before the bigger breweries came to town. Check them out.

As for food research The Admiral in W. Asheville, Curate, 12 Bones, Tupelo Honey. Asheville is small and you can walk the whole downtown easily. Tons of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.

Just hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway and head towards Pisgah Mnts for an awesome scenic drive.

Also, use the search feature for "Asheville" on this forum. A similar thread comes up about every two weeks. Lots of recommendations already.

Biltmore is beautiful, but i found it expensive for the experience. Tickets were $60 ea iirc.

If you like sour beers, be sure to go to the Funkatorium. They are the sour only brewery of Wicked Weed (which is also a really fun spot).

Go eat a biscuit head. Great breakfast food.

When i was there last year, after going to Wicked Weed (which was excellent), we walked to Bhramari Brewing Company which was right around the corner and it ended up being really good. Had a great barrel aged sour stout, best beer i had the whole trip.

Yeah, skip the Biltmore. It's a bit of a ripoff.

Definitely do the Sierra Nevada tour. It was the better of the tours I did while up there last summer. Really nice facility.

I was going to say wicked weed, but after they sold out I am a little sour on them. Which sucks because they make great sours.

Among the others mentioned here. Do not forget Burial. New Belgium has a nice deck over looking the French Broad river. Lexington avenue brewery also has some decent brews.

Good call. Their honey saison is one of the most delicious beers I've ever had.

Definitely hit up Burial. Hi-wire is also excellent.

If you are looking for something to do during the day, I recommend going tubing through the Asheville on the French Broad River. Really nice, relaxing activity with great scenery.

And, you'll get plenty of food recs on the Food Board, or you can do a search there.

Do they still let you walk the grounds for free? Me and the wife went there a long time ago and prices were still crazy, so we just did the grounds for free. We went behind the house and checked out the stuff they were selling back there and saw a door into the house. Well we just walked into the house from the backside and did a whole tour free.

Second the tubing recommendation..

McCormick Park is the home of the low-A Asheville Tourists if you like minor league baseball.

The Asheville Pinball Museum has pinball machines and video games (and serves beer)..you get a wristband and it's all you can play, you can leave and return..but it can get crowded at times.

We are fans of Chestnut, a restaurant downtown-local food and not as overrun by tourists.

We thought about 12 Bones but wound up going to Buxton Hall Barbecue right around the corner from Green Man, and it was really good. Found it suggested a few times on the Asheville subreddit, along with a Korean restaurant called Korea House that turned out really good also.

Thirsty Monk is a bar that I didn't really expect to visit with all of the breweries in walking distance, but it's a good spot with a Belgian room downstairs, rooftop space and generally good beer selection.
