Seriously though, I understand the east coast deal with nicer resorts and less trash, but the sand and water is not pretty at all anywhere north of Florida.

How are the beaches rated? What is the criteria?
We have beautiful beaches in Oregon, but they are different. If warm water, white sand, and beach chair access is the criteria, Oregon has no beaches that qualify for the list.
If scenic beauty, tidal pools, cliffs, and wildlife are criteria, then Oregon should have a beach on that list.

Caladesi is an island beach near Clearwater...but actually in Dunedin, FL.

I have been to several of the beaches listed in florida and Hawaii. Just returned from a trip in Hawaii this is a picture of a beach on Oahu on the Northshore.
