1 Day In Seattle-Need Hotel Recs & Suggestions On What To Do

Taking an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle on RCCL and will be flying in the day before. Need a clean, safe, affordable hotel for the night. Is choosing one near the airport my best bet? I'm assuming anything decent in downtown area will be $200+ a night.
Any good suburban area hotels on the light rail?
Also, we know 1 day isn't much. We figured we'd check out Pike Market and maybe walk around the waterfront. Not looking to squeeze in a ton of stuff.

There is a Hyatt right across the street from the space needle that we have stayed at the last couple of times in Seattle. Nothing fancy but I love to sit on rooftop deck at night, enjoy the cool air ( usually there in summer so way cooler than Louisiana), have a beer and look up at space needle. We walk to Pikes Place from hotel. Pretty expensive and mediocre food but we made sunset reservations a couple trips ago and ate dinner in space needle. Really liked that as it was clear skies and could see Ranier. We usually rent car so not sure how convenient this hotel would be from where your cruise departs.

Chihuly glass exhibit is a must do. The needle was pretty cool. The market is crowded and lame. Reminds me of the French market.

It's the last week of August

Just did this 2 weeks ago. Stayed at the Sheraton on 6th & Pike (around 300 for the night I believe). Went down to Pike Place & walked around killing time before meeting some friends for supper. Thought about doing Chihuly but the tickets are quite pricey.
Took shuttle express to get to the cruise terminal (as well as to/from airport). Was pleased with pricing/service.
If you have any questions about the cruise, feel free to ask.

The airport is about 20 minutes from anything, especially downtown and the cruise terminal, and will still be $200/nt in August.
Downtown hotels will be $350+, Seattle Center (by the Space Needle) will be $250, but look up the Maxwell, a Pineapple Hotel. Great customer service, 300 yards from the Seattle Center attractions, and has a shuttle service to take you to the Pike Place market, or anywhere else you want to go.
You are welcome.
