Work laptop has been restarting for 45mins

What do?
Came in started sending an email. Outlook stopped responding. Open task manager tried to end task and it never actually closed, then I hit restart.

Sounds like it is overheating. If it has a fan, check to see if it is working. Look up tips for keeping your laptop cooler. LINK Elevate it in a way that allows air circulation on the bottom of the laptop which is usually where the fan is located.

This is the only answer and will end just about any freezing problem. The restart button on your screen is not the same as a physical button, its another thing your PC has to process and too many little things can get in the way.
Just hold down the damn power switch on the actual machine and call it a day.
