For those who have taken the plunge, what did you do? Image your old drive or just backup files? Did you actually lose anything in the update? Was your C drive basically wiped out and replaced starting anew? I ask because I have never upgraded from one Windows to another. Always got new machines with the newer versions.

I went ahead and downloaded all of the Lenovo Windows 10 drivers for my laptop in case something went haywire during the update.

My AMD gfx drivers caused BSODs after the update finished, so I safe booted and uninstalled them, and then installed the Windows 10 drivers.

Other than that I didn't have any problem.

I copied my most important files to an external hard drive. Just in case.

Everything went fine and everything is exactly how it was before after the update on both my PCs.

I did have an issue with upgrading to windows 10 on a computer. After installing, it would not load the settings section on the PC or load the update section. I found the fix for this though.

If you were to have this issue.. then go here to fix LINK

very easy fix. just download the file and run it.

Any ways, everything else went GREAT. Everything is right where I left it and everything functions perfectly for me.

It doesn't wipe the drive. It upgrades the system.

I did lose my anti-virus. Seems like most people have been having problems with various anti-virus programs.

My version of Kaspersky wasn't compatible, but they did offer a new 2016 version and they carried over my license.

The only pre-upgrade work I did was I updated my nvidia driver.

When Windows finally tells you the upgrade is done. Reboot one more time. Some drivers (nvidia) don't load until the NEXT reboot.

Many people had trouble with their Audio. If you use realtech, you might want to download the windows 10 driver. I didn't have to but several people on here had audio problems.
