Will there be a point when ATT kicks people off unlimited data plans?

i'd imagine. but even if they dont they will just throttle the shite out of you once you hit a certain threshold.

They are just going to start throttling people to get them to switch on their own.

They already have. Throttling after around 3gb is their ninja way of killing historical "unlimited" data.

I think our 10gb plan is $100 plus $15 access fee per line (no contracts). $145 for 3 lines.

The throttling is horrible too: 0.5 Mbps down and up.

I'm close to getting the 10 GB plan because I'm using 7-8 GB/month now and all I do is stream podcasts and music for the most part. Once I hit the cap, I can't even stream Google Music without it buffering every few seconds.

How is throttling legal? A person and the company have an agreement for money in exchange for service. Is it really spelled out in the fine print that they reserve the right to throttle?

im taking my unlimited data plan to the grave with me.

I use on average about 7.5gb/month

I dont see the throttling being bad. The only thing thats way slower is youtube videos...webpages load the same speed and my pandora plays flawlessly IMO while being "throttled"

I'm paying under $90 for unlimited and also taking it to the grave. Throttled after 5gb but I can still stream music with no problem. Websites run fine as well. I only notice it with videos.

My guess is they are not required to renew your contract at the same terms

They also have no guarantee of any speeds so that loophole is what they probably use.

So should I be worried about losing unlimited when I upgrade for the iPhone 6? I have had the same iPhone 4 for 4 years now, so it's been some time since I have upgraded.

They are already trying to when people buy new phones.

Nope. Just bought an iPhone 6 through Apple this morning and re upped a new 2 year contract with AT&T while doing so. I made sure that the details of the contract had unlimited data. This is the 2nd time I've done this and haven't had an issue with keeping the unlimited plan.

Maybe I will go through Apple instead of ATT. Was the contract pretty straight forward or did you have to go digging to make sure unlimited was still there?

I just preordered the 6, currently have the 4. I used AT&T and it was clear that I was still going to have the unlimited data plan.
