They did the same for me then sent me three letters about it. I get it Comcast, you might now be the second or third worst company in the world.

Check the terms of agreement on their website

You might be signed up for a 2 year contract now. Paying the bill counts as agreement apparently

Possibly to keep competing with competitors. Cox cable just recently doubled our speeds from around to 50 to over 100 for no extra cost.

When our year contract expired, this free upgrade disappeared. The price went up a lot but I just switched back to 50 for the same price I was paying before. Didn't notice a difference in speed for anything...

Time Warner is upgrading me from 30mps to 100 mps with no cost increase. I think they know Google is coming.

This same thing just happened to me. Monthly bill increased by over $40 with no changes by me.

Lol they're not being nice.

I hit the 300gb cap way earlier reach month now thanks to Netflix expanding to use the additional bandwidth.

I had $60 worth of overages last month because we hit the cap like 1/2 way through the month.

frick Comcast. I hate them so much.

Bite what? The letters said that they were raising my speed to 75 mbps from 50. I thought that was pretty clear.

If you are streaming, and haven't adjusted your settings (quality and automatic show roll-over), you can eat up some serious data quickly. Comcast is counting on overages.

CAD's data.

Can you tell when I got bumped?

Notice it took me 2-3 months thus far to start getting this under control.

Uverse bumped me from 25 mbps up to 300 mbps...I'm hoping for no hidden charges, though.

Just keep an eye out. Look at my data use above over more time and tell me this isn't the equivalent of a digital 'speed trap'.

I fell right into their net.
