What's better? Tablet question.

Looking for a tablet for my 12 year old for school work, watching movies, games, internet.
Narrowed it down to the Microsoft Surface 3 with Windows 10 and the Samsung Galaxy S2.
I'm leaning toward the Surface because I like the idea of a tablet running Windows.
Any advice or opinions?

If you want him to actually do school work on it, get the Surface Pro 3.

An Adroid tablet is an iPad, so for actual productivety get the full Windows option. I would tend to agree about a Pro version for an older child who may be taking it to college later, but a surface 3 would be completely adequate for a 12 year old for any actual school work he will perform. As far as future proofing, the regular Surface 3 should be enough to get a kid through highschool barring hardware issues just like the the Pro, and you're probably buying your kid a new laptop to start college in either case.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Greatly appreciate it. Wife and I watched a review video on the Surface. It is pretty impressive.
