I opted for the $89/24 months xfinity internet + cable tv.

I'm paying $59/mo now (promo for xfinity) plus overage charges because of netflix.

I feel like I just got sucker-punched but this option gives me both ESPN and SEC (which DISH and DIRECT want $$$$ to add SEC to any of their base packages).

I can't stand the thought of having to try & game the internet just to watch LSU football.

Its only $30 more than i'm paying now and the current promo expires in 6 months anyway so i figure its a wash.

I pay $190 for Uverse (Internet, phone, cable). I think you're doing ok.

Yeah, I hated U-Verse. I paid too much for too little.

Really? Maybe it's just my 12 month lock in, but I pay ~145$ a month for cable and TV. Seems cheaper than Cox in new Orleans when I price out the 2.

Why not do slingtv?

I thought they had both Espn and sec

If you want me to feel sorry for you, I dont

I pay about 160 a month between cox and directv, and I don't even feel sorry for myself

Yep, sling has ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and SECN for $5 more to the base $20 package.

I'm streaming it now.

He's getting more stuff for 30 and doesn't have to use up more GB's so it probably makes sense to him

He just acts like Comcast is sticking it to him when I was just letting him know he has options

The cable channels should keep his kids off of Netflix a little more

I know his entire life story because he posts every detail of it on some board or another

It's easier to just stick with Comcast and I get 140 more channels besides ESPN and SEC for that $30.

No having dishes hanging off my house and new cable lines run..

I switched to this plan also after our 1 year promotion rate we got when me moved to our new neighborhood expired. But the best part about switching to this plan was the Xfinity X1 DVR box. I hope you got that also. If not return that shite and ask for it ASAP. Since I was a long time Comcast customer, they also waived the installation fee of $99.

I had the old Motorola Xfinity DVR box for almost 6 years before that and the difference is night and day. The X1 is amazing. Make sure to enable the Comcast Labs options in the Settings menu. Bunch of cool shite there. But the best part about the X1 DVR is that it comes with its own iOS and Android apps. Now you can stream (or download!) the stuff that record on your TV directly to your phone or tablet and watch them on the go!

The stupid cable top boxes have remained stagnant for a decade with no innovation whatsoever, but with X1, Comcast seems to have finally caught up. It is actually making me not mind Comcast that much...dare I say like them even?

It includes that.. Honestly I didn't know what that was so I'll probably be asking questions.

I just want to get hd on all my tvs without a box on each one. Hoping the cast tab option in chrome will work. Chromecast is a much simpler solution on tvs.

At a minimum I know I can use watch ESPN with Comcast.

If you know someone with Cox cable, they can make you a free cox e-mail under their account that does not even have to have any control of their account. You can then use that e-mail to login to watch ESPN and watch any ESPN content they pay for. Cox allows you to create up to 8 different e-mails to use. I made one for my girlfriend while you she is away. This is a huge perk for me still keeping them.

Chromecast works very well with mirroring apps that work with it (WatchESPN) from a phone/tablet device, but I would not recommend it as a stand alone or to mirror a browser.. it doesn't run as smooth mirroring browsers and the quality is not very good.. at least from my experience the quality is not as nice showing the browser tabs.. but if you don't mind that is cool.

But yeah I think you got a good deal?, and like you said you only need it for 6 months..

I guess I can add a second box for another $10/mo but it's almost 2016.

Seems barbaric you would need to do that given all the HDMI dongles on the market these days.
