I have a Verizon iPhone 6 that's paid through work. Supposed to be unlimited data plan but IT tells me today that we get throttled after 5 gb of data. I'm sitting at upload/download speed of 0.18 Mbps. My phone is basically useless.

Is this worth jailbreaking for? Would jailbreaking stop this throttling? How would I even begin to jailbreak? Is there another way around this?

No, it doesn't work like that. Enjoy your throttled data.

BS. Verizon doesn't throttle.

verizon throttles 3g data, not 4g data.

I have issues sometimes when I'm outside of 4g tower range because I use enough data to be throttled.

All jailbreaking will do for data usage is let Verizon catch you using your phone as a hotspot if you are on grandfathered unlimited and get kicked off that. If you aren't on grandfathered unlimited, then there is no point to jailbreaking unless you want to customize your phone a bit or some of the jailbreak apps.

Stop watching movies on your phone during the day and get to work.

you don't need to jailbreak to use your phone as a hotspot. FoxFi is awesome.
